We're excited to walk alongside you as you look into being water baptised as your next step!

Water baptism is a significant event because you are showing publicly, in front of family, friends and church, that you are committed to following Jesus and living for Him. We think that is something worth celebrating!

As you prepare to be baptised there are some Biblical and practical information that will help you.


What is Water Baptism?
Baptism is an outward sign of a change that has already happened on the inside of your heart.

It is a symbol that you belong to Jesus and you have committed your life to Him. It is a public, outward declaration of your faith that associates you with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. This represents that you have left behind your old life and begun a new life following Jesus.


Colossians 2:12  “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptised. And with Him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.”


Water Baptism is not something you do to receive salvation. You can still follow Jesus without being baptised and if you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour you will spend eternity with Him.

Families, maybe you have your children/Preteens asking questions about Baptism? You can have great conversations with your family about following Jesus and getting baptised! This PLAN has videos and questions to help start an open conversation with your family. If you want additional support, invite your youth pastor or another church leader to do this plan with you, too. This plan is modeled to help you and your family process information, ideas, doubts, and beliefs surrounding Jesus and help you as a family and your children take this exciting and imporant next step.

A Significant Step
Baptism is a significant step in a lifelong journey with Jesus. It is a public declaration that you have made a personal decision to follow Jesus. What to Wear
Female: swimmers under a T-shirt and shorts. Dark colours
Male: T-shirt and board shorts.

We suggest bringing two towels (one to put around you after the baptism, the other to dry off), a change of clothes, and a bag to put your wet things in. Please feel free to wear the clothes you are being baptised in to church, or you can change prior to the baptism.
